The Best Drug Store Beauty Products

I can still remember buying my very first Revlon eye shadow palette when I was 12 years old. I bought it at the Walgreens near my home.

I remember the promotional pictures above the makeup display showing very stylish women wearing the colors and holding orchids. It looked exotic and cool. I wanted to wear those deep purple colors and look just like the women from the advertisements.

Since that time I have moved on to other brands available at Sephora or department stores, but drug store brands will forever hold a special place in my heart.

These days I am a bit more selective when it comes to purchasing beauty products at a drug store. I want to make sure its a quality beauty product that works. Read this guide for a list of the best drug store beauty products that really work.

Liner Intense From Loreal Paris

To this day I still wear Liner Intense from Loreal Paris. Like Old Faithful, this liner is always on cue with a perfect swoop to accentuate my lash line.

It can work as a minimal day time liner and easily turn into a heavier liner at night. Its tiny thin brush makes it the perfect liner for doing a small wing or in the corners on the bottom lash line.

Neutrogena Oil-Free Eye Makeup Remover

I love this makeup remover. It’s not too heavy or too oily, but it can remove waterproof mascara.

A bottle of this stuff will last a few months and it is also available in convenient wipes. I prefer the liquid put onto a cotton round because it causes less waste. Put it on a Q-tip and use it to correct mistakes when putting on eye shadows or mascara smudges.

Palmer’s Cocoa Butter Formula Daily Skin Therapy

This cocoa butter with Vitamin E stays on the skin to properly moisturize. Palmer’s Cocoa Butter has so many uses!

It is the perfect cure for dry hands and cuticles. Use it as a primer before applying lipstick or as a treatment to hydrate split ends. It even can help tuck away loose baby hairs around the face.

Rub some on your feet or dry heels at night before putting on a pair of cotton socks for soft soles. I don’t know what I’d do without this multi-use product.

Scunci No Damage Hair Elastics

Everyone needs a pack of scuncis. I have thick curly hair and these are just perfect. They don’t get tangled in my hair like other brands.

They also hold my hair in place all day long. They have a variety of sizes and thicknesses of the elastics but whichever you choose you know it will be quite a while before these snap on you.

Simple Cleansing Facial Wipes

These cleansing wipes are super gentle on my sensitive skin yet really tough. They can take off waterproof mascaras and liners with ease.

With no artificial perfumes, harsh chemicals, or colors, these wipes won’t upset your skin. It removes dirt and oil without drying out your skin. I pack them in my bag when I’m going on a trip. If you close them properly they stay moist until the package is finished.

Lash Paradise From Loreal Paris

Lash Paradise waterproof mascara from Loreal Paris.

This waterproof mascara speaks for itself. Made for adding volume and lengthening lashes this mascara provides the best of both worlds and is one of the best drug store products that I always keep on hand.

The secret is in the brush. The soft wavy bristle brush applies just the right amount and combs out lases for a dramatic effect. I also like how it doesn’t make the lashes hard like other mascaras. When I use Lash Paradise my lashes are still soft and natural-looking.

Pond’s Facial Moisturizer

Some things never change. This beauty product is a classic. My grandmother uses Pond’s. My mother uses Pond’s. Both of them have amazing skin. That’s good enough of a reason for me. Now I use Pond’s.

It’s hypoallergenic formula won’t clog your pores. Use it to remove light makeup or moisturize your skin at night. I love the cooling feel when I apply this cream. It’s soothing and apart of my nighttime skincare routine.

Shea Moisture Jamaican Black Castor Oil Leave-In Conditioner

Blah! This one is a mouthful but is the best drug store leave-in conditioner in my book.

Made with Shea butter, peppermint, and apple cider vinegar this conditioner will have your hair back to healthy in no time. I use this once a week. Work it into your hair from root to tip and twist the hair and put it back in a clip. I leave it on for a few hours. While it sits I usually do a DIY face mask and relax in the tub.

The Best Drug Store Beauty Products

These products are my tried and true. Some of them have been around for a long time and others are more recent additions.

Even though I like to shop at higher-end stores like Sephora, these drug store beauty products are now apart of my beauty routine as well as an excellent buy. Share this article with your friends and check out our other beauty articles for more on beauty products.
