The Perfect Pony

The perfect ponytail is an easy summer look that works on all hair types. We elevated this easy hairstyle to give it a little something more.

This is one of our favorite hairstyles to do on dirty hair since it holds better than clean hair. Follow these simple steps to perfect your pony.

Step One – Tease the hair at the crown. With your teasing comb (we like this natural bristle brush best. It’s gentle on the hair.) gently tease back and forth on the hair at the top front of your head. This will give your pony extra volume on top.

Step Two – Twist and pin. Take the hair from the crown and twist it and pin it to the back of your head where you want the ponytail to hang. Be sure to tuck in any loose hairs if you don’t want them to stick out. (tuck in the fine baby hairs with a toothbrush and hairspray)

Step Three – Secure with a ponytail holder. Whether you use an elastic or a ponytail holder this is the part where you scoop up all the hair and pull it to the back of your head in a tight secure ponytail.

Step Four – Make it look pretty. Take a strand from the ponytail out and wrap it around the elastic or ponytail holder. Then secure it with a safety pin to keep it in place.

The Top Knot Bun

The top knot is an effortlessly chic look that can easily go from work to the beach or pool. This is one of our most favorite and easy summer hairstyles of 2020. This style will always be a keeper in our book.

If you have fine hair we suggest a little teasing or backcombing and a few bobby pins to get a fuller ballerina looking bun.

Boxer Braids

Boxer braids are two Dutch braids. They are both stylish and chic. Once you get the hang of them they are easy to do. Practice on your friends to get it down correctly.

These braids are famously worn by Kim K and her sisters. You can style them in different ways to make them work for any summertime occasion.

Regular boxer braids are great for working out, but you can also put them up in a bun for a cute date night look or for going out with friends.

Two Top Buns

Two buns are definitely better than one in this cute and easy summer hairstyle. Make today a double bun day and try this style out.

This hairstyle is extremely playful. Celebrities like Miley Cyrus and Arianna Grande love this look. Wear it for a casual day style our dress it up and wear it out with friends.

Step One – Split your hair into two sections, as shown, and pull into high pigtails.

Step Two – Lightly tease each pigtail and then wrap it into a bun and secure with bobby pins. We like to twist the hair as I wrap it into a bun, but that’s completely optional.

Step Three – To make each bun a little wider, pull sections out slightly that seem like they might be pulled tightly in the bun and secure with hairpins to keep them in place. (Try these blonde bobby pins if you have light hair for a seamless look.)

The Mohawk Braid

The mohawk braid looks difficult but it’s actually easy to do. You can also complete this look in whatever braiding style you like so there can be lots of variations on this summer hairstyle.
